Travail was a rapcore/nu-metal style contemporary Christian music rock band based in the Dallas/Fort Worth area in Texas. Fronted by Matt Leslie, it had an intense following at a local club called Club 412 in southwest Fort Worth. It is not well known, but in 2000, Travail was nominated for a "Dove Award", the Christian musics equivalent of the Grammys. The band was signed on Pluto Records and then were picked up by national label Metro One. Before touring much under the new label, however, Travail broke up. Their most requested song, "I Hate The Devil (and The Devil Hates Me)" is still a very popular song and the video for "Return" is still a popular video among those who enjoy the rapcore/nu-metal genre.Guitarist Aaron Wiese is now in the band "Spoken."
