Thundercrack Biography

Thundercrack! (1975) is a black comedy film, combining an "old dark house" mystery with hardcore sex scenes. The film is unusual for its time as it is filmed in black-and-white and features graphic sexual acts. In terms of its intentional tastelessness, it could be compared to the films of John Waters. Taglines "A very strange film by Curt McDowell" "Ecstasy so great, that all Heaven and Hell become but one Shangri-La!" Production The film was made on black and white film and there is much overexposure of the film. In many places it is too bright to be able to see detail. Throughout, vertical lines are imposed over the visuals to give the feeling that the film is much older than it actually is. The official website claims that a new longer cut of the film will be made available that will be clearer in film quality.
