Pretz Biography

Pretz (????, purittsu) is a Japanese snack made by Ezaki Glico. It is stick-shaped and similar in texture to a pretzel (hence the name), but unlike the other popular Japanese stick-shaped snack food, Pocky, Pretz is rarely sweet. Popular flavors include salad, roast, tomato, honey mustard, corn, pizza, butter, and cacao. Special flavours can be found in other countries such as larb in Thailand, pineapple in Hawaii and maple in Canada. Commercial characters Aya Matsuura (2002—2006) Taichi Kokubun (2007—) Pretz in popular culture The Japanese anime Onegai Twins features a snack food named "Prech" which, aside from the difference in the product's name, is identical in almost every aspect to Pretz, down to the design of the box.
