Picture Of The Moon Biography

Picture of the Moon is a Dutch rock band founded in 2001. The band itself and various reviewers place its music in the progressive metal, progressive rock, or hard rock music genres. The band's official site describes its sound as featuring "...a combination of melodic synth sounds with the melodic backup of the rhythm and solo guitar; bass guitar and drum interactions; and changes in vocals between the occasional grunt and melodic singing." Their influences include Dream Theater, Pagan's Mind and Iron Maiden. Band members As of March 2007, the band consists of: Michiel Borkent (vocals and keyboard) Rudolf Saathof (drums) Frans Klaver (rhythm guitar) Alex Rosenhof (lead guitar) Sander Rhebergen (bass guitar) Biography Picture of the Moon began in 2001 as an initiative from students of the University of Twente, The Netherlands with a similar interest in progressive rock and metal.
