Mizraab is a Progressive metal band from Pakistan. Mizraab means "A plectrum made by hand from a continuous strand of iron used to strike the strings of the sitar".
Mizraab was conceived in the late '90s by Faraz Anwar, with the aim of raising the profile of progressive rock and metal in the Pakistani music scene.Mizraab released their first album Panchi in January 2000, but the album received little attention and the band broke up.Faraz then, keeping the name Mizraab, began a solo project. In the summer of 1999 he went to Lahore to record at Digital Fidelity Studios, where his work was well received.
