Female Trouble is a 1974 comedy film by Baltimore, Maryland filmmaker John Waters starring Divine, David Lochary, Mary Vivian Pearce, Mink Stole, Edith Massey, Michael Potter, Cookie Mueller, and Susan Walsh.The film is dedicated to Manson Family member Charles "Tex" Watson. Waters' prison visits to Watson inspired the "crime is beauty" theme of the film, and Waters used a toy wooden helicopter Watson made for him in the credits.
Plot
The movie opens with Divine singing the title song Female Trouble and begins with Dawn Davenport (Divine), a troubled, selfish, overweight and truant teen, self-described in the film as a "thief" and a "shitkicker". We see the school as it's the last day before Christmas vacation where Dawn is at her locker with her friend Concetta (Cookie Mueller) and they walk to Geography together. In class, Mr. Wineburger (George Hulse) is taking roll and the girls arrive late. Dawn's other friend Chiclet (Susan Walsh) is reprimanded for wearing an inappropriate ski
