Angels Fall First is Nightwish's debut album, released in 1997 by Spinefarm Records. The limited edition —500 copies— features only seven tracks, two of which aren't on the regular edition. Even though the only single, The Carpenter (a split with Children of Bodom and Thy Serpent), did reach number three on Finnish single chart, the band didn't reach national fame until the second album, Oceanborn. Male vocals on Beauty and the Beast, The Carpenter, Astral Romance and Once Upon a Troubadour are sung by Tuomas Holopainen. Elvenpath uses audio-clips from the prologue of The Lord of the Rings, directed by Ralph Bakshi. The tracks on the limited edition is the same track that were on their second demo, which also was called Angels Fall First.
